Twisty's Halloween Miracle

When 5-year-old Twisty arrived at Big Dog Ranch Rescue, her story was nearly over before it had a chance to begin. Rescued from Broward County Animal Care and Control moments before she was set to be euthanized, this sweet Bulldog came to us in devastating condition, with her lower jaw having been severely degloved, leaving her in unimaginable pain.

Despite everything she had endured, Twisty’s eyes still held a spark, a quiet plea for help, and a will to survive. Our medical team immediately rushed to stabilize her, knowing that every second counted. It was clear she would need urgent, complex reconstructive surgery to have any hope of recovery.

But Twisty wasn’t alone. Thanks to your prayers, donations, and compassion, we were able to get her the lifesaving care she so desperately needed.

UPDATE: We’re overjoyed to share that Twisty’s reconstructive surgery was a complete success, and she’s now resting comfortably under the watchful eyes of our medical team. She’s stable, safe, and healing beautifully — all because of YOU.
