Join Our Mission to Save Lives

We are the largest cage-free, no-kill shelter in the United States. We take in stray, abused, abandoned, neglected, and surrendered dogs and puppies. Volunteers are needed to save these animals and find them a forever home.

Volunteers 8 to 15 years old must be accompanied by an adult. Volunteers 16 years of age and older can volunteer alone.

What to Expect

Once you complete your Volunteer Application, you will be directed to register for an orientation. Orientations are held quarterly on the weekends. Please reach out to the volunteer manager to find the best day and time for your schedule. At your orientation, you will purchase a BDRR Volunteer T-shirt ($20) and receive your PIN number in order to log into our volunteer scheduling portal.

Be a part of life-saving rescue missions – help save dogs, transport them and care for them as they begin their journey to a better life.

RANCH READERS PROGRAM

Our program allows kids, with a parent or chaperone, to read stories to our dogs in the open-air meet-and-greet area.

It’s a fun way for dogs to socialize and kids to practice reading.
