Rocky's Road to Recovery

Even though he is only 5 months old, Rocky's journey has definitely been rocky. This beautiful pup was rescued by Big Dog Ranch Rescue back in December from the streets of Puerto Rico. While we may never know the full extent of what he endured, his little body speaks volumes—each scar and fracture a testament to the mountains he’s already climbed.

As soon as Rocky arrived on our Florida campus, our medical team quickly discovered that he had suffered severe fractures in his hind legs, along with injuries to his neck and pelvis. During his first month at the ranch, he stayed in our medical facility under close observation, as our team worked diligently to ensure he was strong enough to undergo the orthopedic surgery necessary for him to live a long, healthy, and happy life.
In January, our dedicated veterinary staff successfully performed the first of two orthopedic surgeries, repairing Rocky’s left hind leg. Since then, he’s been healing beautifully, gaining strength each day. In the coming weeks, he’ll undergo surgery on his right h

ind leg, bringing him one step closer to a life full of mobility, play, and possibility.
Thanks to your incredible support, Rocky is not only surviving—he’s thriving. Because of you, he has a warm bed to sleep in, food in his belly, and the medical care he so desperately needed. You’ve given him a second chance at life, and soon, a chance to find the forever family he deserves.

Poor Rocky, five months old and already carrying that much weight on his shoulders—or paws, I guess. It’s incredible what a difference proper medical care and a safe place can make for a rescue pup. The fact that he’s already bouncing back from the first surgery is a testament to both his spirit and the team at the ranch. Speaking of testing recovery, I recently came across a scroll test that’s surprisingly handy for checking if your mouse wheel is acting up—not quite the same stakes as Rocky’s journey, but it reminded me how small diagnostics can make a big difference in the long run. Here’s hoping his second surgery goes just as smoothly and he finds his forever home…

So many players blame bad luck in 99 Nights in the Forest, but most runs are already doomed because they wasted the day instead of preparing for the night.
