This beautiful Belgian Malinois, Mia, was rescued from the streets of Thailand and brought to Big Dog Ranch Rescue, where her life finally took a turn toward hope.
When she first arrived, Mia carried herself with
the confidence of a protector, but behind that proud stance was the shadow of a difficult past. Like many working breeds without the right guidance, she had developed habits to survive in an unpredictable world. She was smart, determined, and fiercely loyal—qualities that could shine with the right kind of care.

Now in her golden years, Mia is ready for a home where she can relax and enjoy the good life—without losing her sense of purpose. She’s a “workaholic” at heart, happiest when her mind and body are busy. Whether she’s learning a new trick, going for a brisk run, or showing off her impeccable obedience skills, Mia gives it her all. She even has a signature move—her charming “sit like a lady” pose—that melts hearts every time.

Over the course of the last 3 years, Big Dog Ranch Rescue has successfully paired nearly 200 veterans with dedicated service dogs. These dogs are paired with veterans at absolutely no cost to our American heroes. This is all made possible thanks to supporters like you. Mia has been part of our Veterans Training Program for the past year and a half. Through patience, structure, and dedicated training, she has transformed into a highly responsive, eager-to-please companion. She thrives on routine and loves having a clear job to do. But she’s also a high-drive, intelligent dog—without mental stimulation and boundaries, she can slip back into her old ways.
If you want to help be part of our mission to help save dogs like Mia, giving them the training, care, and second chances they deserve, please donate today at www.bdrr.org/donate. Your support helps dogs become more adoptable and ultimately find their forever homes.
