Esmeralda is a 2-year-old mixed breed who came to Big Dog Ranch Rescue under heartbreaking circumstances. She was brought to us after being hit by a

car, suffering from multiple severe injuries.

The impact left her with a complex fracture of her right femur, a dislocated left hip, a pelvic fracture, internal bleeding, and severe chest trauma.
Thanks to the generosity of our incredible donors and the support of our Miracle Fund, Esmeralda was able to receive care from an orthopedic specialist, intensive monitoring, and round-the-clock critical care from our amazing medical team and volunteers.

Now, after undergoing several surgeries and treatments, Esmeralda is slowly regaining her strength and showing inspiring signs of recovery. She has even started walking again—a huge and joyful surprise to our entire team.
Esmeralda is truly a fighter. While she continues to heal and grow stronger each day, she's one step closer to becoming her happy, healthy self again. We’re so proud of how far she’s come—and we know her best days are still ahead.
