When Bells arrived at Big Dog Ranch Rescue on May 30, 2025, she carried with her the kind of story that stops you in your tracks. Found in Miami after being struck by a car, she came to us injured, unsure, and without anyone to call her own. In those first quiet moments, wrapped in blankets and surrounded by the gentle hands of our medical team, we saw not just a dog in need—but a soul still full of trust, gentleness, and grace
Bells is a beautiful 5-year-old Belgian Malinois/Mix with deep brown eyes that seem to carry both sorrow and hope. Though she had every reason to shut down, she didn’t. From the very beginning, she leaned into affection with the quietest kind of courage, as if she knew that healing wasn’t just about bones mending, but about hearts opening.
We gave her the name Bells because she has a quiet but undeniable presence—soft and sweet, but strong enough to ring out and leave a lasting impression. As the days turned into weeks, and her body began to heal, we started to see glimpses of the dog she was always meant to be. She began seeking out cuddles, resting her head on the nearest lap, and walking with more confidence through the halls of our rescue center. She didn’t just recover—she transformed.

Now, nearly two months later, it’s clear that Bells is ready to begin the next part of her journey. She’s not just looking for a home—she’s looking for someone to share her life with. Bells is the kind of dog who doesn’t need loud declarations or grand gestures. All she wants is to be close, to be safe, and to be loved.
Bells has already walked through so much pain, but she never stopped loving. Her story isn’t finished yet—but with your help, we can make sure it ends in the best way possible: with a home, a family, and a forever kind of love.
