At Big Dog Ranch Rescue, we witness miracles every day—but some stories leave a mark on your heart that never fades. Rambit’s story is one of those.
In 2022, Rambit was found as a stray in Broward County, FL—abandoned, abused, and barely clinging to life. When he arrived at Big Dog Ranch Rescue, he had duct tape wrapped tightly around his mouth, a cruel act that left behind a permanent scar and a haunting reminder of the pain he endured. He was broken, physically and emotionally.

But Rambit didn’t give up. And neither did we.
Through compassionate care, time, and trust from our team and volunteers, Rambit began to heal. Beneath his visible wounds was a dog with gentle eyes, and a heart that despite everything still wanted to love and be loved. His resilience is a testament to the strength of animals and the power of second chances.
Today, Rambit walks confidently around the Ranch, charming volunteers and visitors alike with his impeccable leash manners and calm demeanor. He thrives on human connection and dreams of a forever home with an adult-only family, ideally with someone who has experience and patience to understand his past and support his bright future. Rambit loves attention, and he truly deserves to be the center of someone’s world.
His story is heartbreaking—but it’s also hopeful. Because Rambit isn’t just a survivor. He’s living proof of what’s possible when compassion meets action.
And Rambit is just one of hundreds.
Every day, dogs like him arrive at our gates—abandoned or neglected. Many are sick, or scared, but with love, medical care, rehabilitation, and time, we help them reclaim their lives.
What we do at Big Dog Ranch Rescue isn’t just rescue work. It’s transformational. It’s life-saving. Behind every miracle is a team of people—volunteers, donors, and adopters—who believe that no dog is too far gone, and every life is worth saving.
