BEAGLE LIBERATION ACT

Beagle Liberation Act, is a logical next step following enactment of the FDA Modernization Act 2.0. As Congress successfully modernized federal policy by reducing reliance on mandatory animal testing, we now have an opportunity to ensure that healthy, adoptable dogs and cats that are no longer needed for research are given the chance to find loving homes rather than being unnecessarily euthanized. The legislation is designed to support responsible biomedical innovation while promoting humane retirement and adoption of research animals whenever appropriate.

It supports responsible biomedical research while ensuring humane outcomes after that research has concluded.

This bill isn't about ending research. It's about honoring the service these animals have already given by giving healthy dogs and cats the opportunity to spend the rest of their lives in loving homes. Big Dog Ranch Rescue has adopted out countless Beagles and others involved in animal testing, and is willing to continue to work with testing facilities to ensure these animals are placed in the right homes for the betterment of not only the animals, but our society as a whole.
