Grieving The Loss of a pet

Losing a pet can be devastating and can feel worse than losing a parent. Pets provide something humans cannot: unconditional love and companionship.

There are FALSE myths we are told surrounding grief, such as:

1. Don’t feel badly you can get another

2. Your pet is in a better place

3. Time will heal

4. Be strong, don’t cry

Grief has been an emotion suppressed by society for years. Grieving is healthy and it is important to embrace the roller coaster of feelings and to take the needed action steps to gain emotional closure.

“Grief is one of the emotions vital to healing and growing, especially when experiencing the loss of someone as important as a pet,” says Celeste Jones, founder of Pet Grieving Recovery Specialist (PGRS).

PGRS offers a workshop of 8 training modules that will guide you through the mourning process with a toolkit of processes to gain emotional closure with the death of your pet. These 50 minute segments will aid in releasing the pain of the death of your companion animal while filling you with peace, tranquility and acceptance which is what your furry loved one wishes.
