πŸΎπŸΆπŸ• LET'S TALK ABOUT MARTINGALE COLLARS! πŸ•πŸΆπŸΎ
.
.
When you adopt a dog from Big Dog Ranch, we require you to either have or purchase a martingale collar for the dog. We know that you want to have a pretty new collar on your dog, and they can wear that too, but please ALWAYS attach the leash to the martingale collar.
.
. 🌟🌟 Martingale collars fits loosely on a dog’s neck but tightens when it needs to. 🌟🌟
.
.
It has two loops. The first looks like a traditional nylon collar that is adjustable and hangs around the dog’s neck. The second is for control when the leash is attached. When the dog pulls, the collar tightens and will stay snug around the dog’s neck without choking the dog. When the tension is released, the collar loosens again.
.
.
🌟🌟 The martingale makes it hard for a dog to slip free. 🌟🌟
.
.
Some dogs can slip out of their collars more easily than others, depending on their fur texture and the shape of their neck compared to their head. When. you rescue a dog, you are adding a new dog to the family that doesn't yet know where he lives, what the expectations are, etc. You also may not know yet what scares the dog, and if he doesn't know to come back to you, you may have trouble catching your new dog. .
.
A martingale collar will protect your new dog and we ALWAYS recommend it for safety. The can be purchased through us or anywhere that pet supplies are sold.
.
.
TIP: When the dog is unsupervised the martingale should be replaced with a regular collar in case the collar gets caught on something.
