Meet Acree: A Future Hero in Training 🇺🇸

Acree is a kind and bright 1-year-old Golden Retriever who is currently part of our Veteran Service Dog Training Program here at Big Dog Ranch Rescue. This special program is built on the belief in the power of the human-animal bond to help military Veterans find healing, connection, and support—while giving rescue dogs like Acree a second chance at life.

Through this program, we work closely with the local Veterans Administration to identify and match specific rescue dogs to the unique needs of individual Veterans. Acree is one of the promising pups currently being trained to provide emotional support, companionship, and assistance to a Veteran in need.

All training is provided at no cost to the Veteran. We also help with equipment selection, and every dog in the program—like Acree—is fully vaccinated, microchipped, and receives reduced-cost veterinary care for the first year through our on-site Veterinary Center.

Acree is not just learning commands—she’s preparing to change someone’s life. And thanks to your support, dogs like her are getting the chance to serve those who have already given so much.
