Our space is the most significant hurdle to our goal of expanding and saving more lives. The existing Big Dog Ranch Rescue facility was built for wildlife, not for dogs. We’ve completely outgrown it and cannot fulfill our mission due to space limitations and an inability to protect our dogs from the elements.
With your support, we are building a new facility at 14444 Loxhatchee Rd., Loxahatchee, FL 33470. It is designed to have everything dogs need to recover from any pre-existing medical conditions and become well balanced dogs – all while under the loving care of our staff. The dogs will have space to roam, play and grow in our new 33-acre cage-free environment.
Our new indoor facility will be a place where we can keep dogs cool in the summer and warm during the winter – something our current space does not offer. The facility includes individual, climate-controlled 12’x12’ rooms which will give dogs a place to cohabitate without stress, in a comfortable home-like environment.
We will be there for the community to provide much needed services including educational programs, affordable spay/neuter/veterinary care, obedience training and senior animal assistance. We will be a model for shelters and rescues across the country.
Our veterinary team will provide life-savings services to the injured and ill at our Intake building and state-of-the-art Veterinary Center. We’ll stop the spread of illness by healing dogs quicker from the viruses they contract in municipal shelters.
Our innovative puppy pods will provide a safe haven for puppies and pregnant moms to give birth, instead of dying in shelters, where they are the first to be killed. We will nurture and raise them until they are ready to find their forever homes.
